Hi there,

How’s things?

As usual a nice mixed collection of links this week. I try and include a range of things because, to be honest - I’m into lots of different things.

So, if you fancy it - send a quick reply to say which was your favorite link. It’s always interesting to see what people like. I let you know the top scorer in the next edition!
On to the links…

How to create a press page for your website

A few editions ago I shared this article about how to get your work in the press. One of the points was about making a press page on your site. This article explains step by step how to do that. A good press page on your site will work for you 24/7, and potentially get you some business.

Demons hate fresh air

This is a short and sweet bit of brain food. It's a short article from Austin Kleon. He talks in his recent book 'Keep Going' about getting outside. He says "demons hate fresh air". It's so simple, but I think it's true. I've got all his books and always find them to be a brilliant source of motivation.

clever tools

Real-time chat room for 5 of your mates!

Yap is a real-time chat room where you can invite up to 5 other people (so 6 in total) and talk about whatever you want. You can upload a website, video or image to talk about (perhaps good for brainstorming or debriefing). The main difference here is the chat disappears, so nothing is saved. I really like the simple design, nice and fresh!

Dangerous writing tool

There are loads of tools online to help you write, ones that check your spelling and grammar. This one is more in the scary category. Essentially, if you stop typing you lose all your work. There are two different modes, one is just a blank page, the other gives you a little writing prompt. so the start of a story. They say writing is easy, it's the rewrite that's difficult. So, just get it down on paper and type!

Swearing Zoom backgrounds

These made me laugh out loud. So I won't spoil it and tell you what they say, but just know they are rude! Don't worry they are all just words. They are by the artist Mr Bingo, whose work I love. He's the guy behind the naked advent calendar. If you haven't seen his other work take a look - it's hilarious.

A People Map of the US and the UK

This is definitely worth a play. There is a US and a UK version. From The Pudding - the people who also made this music timeline from Edition 002, these maps show the most Wikipedia’ed person of that area. So, turns out a famous wrestler is from the same village as me!
