Spark Edition 044: Remote Work, mic check and amazing drawings

Hi there,

How’s things? I’ve been figuring out how to create the archive for the site, so all the previous links I’ve shared will be available to see. So for example, you will be able to look at all the ‘Clever Tools’, and also search for something, such as ‘minimalism.

Just over 250 pages to create though - so I’ll let you know how it goes!
On to the links…

How to get unstuck in 10 Minutes

If like me you have 100 things going around your head at once and they all seem to be important, then this article will most likely help. It breaks down the urgent/not urgent/important/not important into a system. Give it a go next time you’re starting to feel overwhelmed.

What if remote work didn’t mean working from home?

This piece by Cal Newport talks about how remote working, or working from home might not work for all of us. It certainly resonated with me, in 2020 during the lockdown I would often sit in the car to get some work done!

clever tools

Easy way to check what you sound like online

This is a really easy tool to check what you sound like just before any online meeting. Turns out my sound setup needs a bit of work! It also gives a sentence to say so you don't have to think of anything!

Personal website inspiration to help you build your site

Ok, so not technically a tool but it is a list of tools. If you’re looking at getting a personal website online this is a fab place to start looking at what your options are. It lists not only the software used but also a massive amount of inspiration. I’m going to upgrade my personal website soon, so will definitely be looking at some of these for ideas.

fun stuff

On your bike

Fancy a bike ride? This site shows lots of exhilarating rides from the biker's point of view, except they’re riding in snow, forests, mountains, and more. Love the site design as well.

Amazing drawing with a ballpoint pen

These drawings are really something else. They’re all done with just a ballpoint pen and they’re absolutely breathtaking. The artist Oscar Ukonu spends between 200 to 400 hours on each piece.
