Hi there,
How’s your week been?
We converted some 8mm cine film onto a phone this week. It got me thinking about how our records of the past are much more tangible. Nowadays it’s all on our devices. So it’s technically easier to look at, but there’s something magical about holding something your grandparents had held or created as well.
Also, got featured in Creative Morning’s round-up of most anticipated newsletters! How cool is that - so hello new subscribers! You can take a look at the other newsletters here.

Banksy's latest work - how he did it.
Ever wondered how Banksy actually puts his work on buildings? Well, now you can find out! This 3-minute video shows how he put up a painting of an inmate at a prison escaping over the wall. The video is unlisted on YouTube so doesn't come up in search results! Enjoy!
I've been hearing more and more lately about the 15-minute city. Essentially the concept is that in large cities residents should be able to access everything they need (work/education/social life etc) within a 15 min walk or cycle ride. I would have said a year ago the concept was a bit far off, but with recent events, people's lifestyles have changed dramatically. The plus side is good for the people and the planet. The future of cities looks good I reckon.
clever tools
Surprised that no one has done this before. If LinkedIn feels a bit too busy and businessy for you this might just what you need. You can create a profile, add all your info and the page becomes your CV. I really like the look of it, nice and minimalist. Plus it is printable, and has a dark mode! Here's the link to the CV of the person who made it.
Check the UV light where you are
This clever little app is really simple, it tells you what the UV exposure will be where you are. Shows you a grade from 1 to 5, and when it's safer to be outside, or when you should wear sunscreen. Really nicely designed as well. Quite handy now that the days are longer than the nights - yah!
fun stuff
How many hours have you watched your favourite TV show
Ok, so I first off put this under Clever Tools, then thought, hang on - it's not really a tool, and technically more fun! Basically, you type in your favourite TV show, let's say 5 seasons of Peaky Blinders, and this site will tell you how many hours you have watched it for!
This is lovely. Whether you're a fan of Studio Ghibli or not, this is a treat. As the title suggests, it literally is that - 30 mins of relaxing visuals from the film studio behind Spirited Away and Ponyo.
