Free creative online 'Field Trips'
You may’ve heard of Creative Mornings, I shared them in a previous edition here. In 2020, during lockdown, they began a series of online talks and classes called Field Trips. They’re from people all over the world with sessions ranging from learning to draw, writing, negotiating, and loads more. All free!
The Gentlewoman Library of interviews
The Gentlewoman is a biannual magazine that celebrates the modern woman, mostly through their fashion and style, but the photography and writing set it apart. This link is to their collection of over 113 interesting interviews with different women. This list includes chefs, writers, photographers, fashion designers and artists.
clever tools
Simple minimalist task list creator
If you’re a fan of making lists then this little handy app will help. It's a really quick way to get your weekly to-dos in one place. It has two lists: one for the week ahead and one called 'Future Self' (so tasks for another week). A really handy feature is the weekly reminder email - you can set a day and a time to get a full list emailed to you.
I shared this site back in Edition 038. Essentially you can build a beautiful minimalist CV online. The makers have recently overhauled the design and features. The main one is the explore page, where you can make a post, but all comments come back to you as a reply.
fun stuff
This is a fantastic Twitter account to look through. Stuart Humphryes takes old photos, sometimes from over 100 years ago, and cleans them up. Makes the feeling of looking back through history much more fascinating. I particularly like this one of Elvis when he was a toddler.
Stop-motion animation of household objects
This is a great short video of various household items such as a hairdryer 'exploding' so you can see what’s inside. Really nicely done.
